My friend Hirotaka and I worked hard to develop an affordable easy to use laser cutter for about one year. Then finally, our ideas and effort were fully realized.-Open sourcePeople can be freely modify our software and hardware to expand the processing area and add such as adding additional functions.-1.6 watts diode laserIt adopted 1.6 watts diode laser for the laser parts. The output is strong enough that it can cut 0.079inch (2mm) of material.-Mechanical parts. We adopted open builds V-slot for our mechanical parts, therefore it is simple and easy to assemble.-Computer softwareComputer software works on the Browser. It’s producing by HTML, JavaScript, Python and this is Cross-platform. You can use with Windows、Max OS X、Lunux、Raspberry Pi.- The control boardArduino Mega’s program is based on GRBLDetails. Hello smartDIYs, and thanks for the updates, it's a great project!

I would like to start building one, but I think I'm a bit lost with the controller shield to use with the Arduino. If I'm not wrong, you use a shield on the arduino that controls the sevos with 2 a4988 plugged on it. I wonder what shield do you use? It's not mentionned in the details. Is it a 'homemade' shield we can build out of a prototyping shield or it is specificaly produced for your machine? I noticed that the laser controller PCB is not in the component list, do you have any details? Thanks for your help! Are you sure?.

I have just learned by sad experience that you do not want to buy this or anything from GREARBEST. I bought one of these and it burned once and stopped. After quite the struggle of getting them to understand that the laser does not work (them asking the exact same question every time- can't they read prior communications?) they finally told me I can return it for refund where the cost would be about the same as if I bought this again. This has great potential, but you need to find a reliable source before you embark on this project.
