Durga Stuti is chanted by the devotees at the time of praying to the Goddess to invoke her blessings. It is a way to please the Goddess and invite her help and blessing in times of distress. The meaning of Durga Stuti is elaborated in the following paragraphs. In Durga Stuti, Goddess is described as the power behind Shiva, who grants wishes to her devotees and is also the creator, preserver as well as the destroyer of all. Devotees believe that submitting themselves to the Goddess is a form of meditation that makes the mind ‘holy’ just as the body becomes holy by bathing in the Holy River Ganges. Sorry for the delayed reply. I hope you're into the Navratri Sadhana.
Even otherwise, I feel you can offer yourself to Devi in ways said above even now. Navratri isn't over. And, of course, whenever possible in future. I mean Devi can be celebrated even after Navratri.
So, no regrets, if any. What I told you will hold true, for your plan of using Devi's picture. Simply put, if your cycle begins, just have a head bath every day, as you start your Sadhana. Hope you're used to it on all days of the process. So, nothing notable really.
What I learnt from Mystic's Musings is that once a woman has a head-bath during such a time, her aura gets cleansed, and that's enough. And, the use of a picture is the source of your another doubt.
Once, I heard Sadhguru talk on a video about pictures and reverberations from them, which can actually be known by the use of Rudraksh-mala. Wish you get to see it once.
Now, I'll give you the gist of the matter. Pics of Sadhguru, Dhyanalinga and Linga Bhairavi are sure to reverberate positive energy, which is very much as what one knows in their presence. So, you can go on with the process with Devi's picture.Sadhguru says if you're willing, the Existence answers. It has been very true for me, as many things I knew from Him. Just be willing, open and receptive, and you'll be transported to the Lap of Grace. Effortlessly, things will unfurl. Jai Bhairavi Devi!
Shambho's Shambhavi will take care. I wish you His Grace and Her Boundless Love. to post comments. You can offer anything to Devi. And the best, of course, is yourself. According to me, 'anything' here is anything that you may wish for yourself.
Devi Stuti In Telugu From Soundarya Lahari
Isn't that the best way to identify what one can offer Devi? You may offer her clothing(a saree), food (its wise to be satvic and thus, devoid of negative pranic stuff such as garlic, green chillies, onion, asafoetida and brinjal), flowers and everything else you wish to adorn her with (bangles, anklets, ear-rings). Sounds fanatic to some, but its got to be a great time with the Goddess. Just treat her this Dussehra. I heard that Bhairavi's Grace can be enjoyed the most by offfering her: rice, green gram and sesame. You can also make a dish out of any of these and offer her as prasadham.I used to make one using all these three ingredients. Later, I learnt there are ways to bring together ingredients.
So, I'm not sure if the recipe is right and worth-sharing. So, I would suggest you create a traditional recipe from each ingredient.
For a Navratri, I identified 'nava-dhanyas' and on each day, a prasadham was made out of one. Some ideas are mine and some were passed on by friends.
Now, its time you triggerred your imagination and made it big and beautiful for Maa Devi Bhairavi. to post comments. Temples at Isha and Linga Bhairavi forms(Gudi or Lamp or Yantra) are consecrated in a very powerful way called prana prathistha. Such energy structures and forms aren't disturbed in any way, if a woman makes use of it during her menstrual cycle. On the other hand, other temples that aren't consecrated through prana prathistha, tend to lose their vibrancy. That's why, we were advised so by our elders.
For more on this subject, you can read Sadhguru's book 'Mystic's Musings'.Thus, for this Navratri Sadhana, this doesn't matter and you can certainly go on with the process without a break. So, have a happy Navratri and a wonderful Dussehra!!!.
